HARRY - ALASKA AIREDALE RESCUE

HERE'S HARRY!
What a dear, sweet face!

Jan Williams wrote: In January of this year, 11 year old Harry came into rescue as an owner surrender. He had been with his family since he was a puppy. They were moving out of Alaska and didn't think he would handle the move well, which included a long sail boat trip. Harry was in good shape except for a few fatty tumors, an ear infection and some eating issues which had previously resulted in an operation for torsion. While Harry was here, he was quite anxious. His previous owners said he was nervous since his torsion surgery. My vet diagnosed him with cognitive dysfunction and he was put on SAMe which seemed to be helping him some.

Harry is a funny, active, loving senior boy, but a senior with some issues and I was afraid it would be hard to find him the right home. Imagine my surprise when I had interest in him. After interviewing several families, Harry went to have a day visit with Rod and Nancy Nibbe and their Senior Husky mix, Lucy. To make a long story short, that day visit never ended. Harry no longer needs the SAMe and is a very happy boy in his wonderful new home.

Relaxing at home...
Here's an update from Harry's family:

Harry has completed our family and we're still trying to figure out what his "issues" are! No one can believe that he is 11 years old. He is vital and runs like the wind with his sister Lucy. You should see him zip across the tundra. He also loves the beach when we go to our cabin in Seward. We call him Kelp Hunter! We adore him and pray he has a long happy life with us. More pictures and exploits of Harry can be seen at our blog rknibbe.com. Please come visit. Nancy & Rod Nibbe
