The next Incentive drawing features a creation from Sadie Moore. Sadie’s painting printed on a 6” x 6” decorative tile captures a curious Airedale puppy to charm us all.
Here's an easy recipe for a human treat contributed by Virginia Slowik in memory of her Rescue boy, Saxon.
SAXON’S BLACK & TAN BARS
(for human consumption only)
Ingredients:
40 Saltine crackers
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
6 ounces Chocolate Chips
½ cup chopped nuts (I prefer pecans for their color and flavor)
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Place single layer of Saltlines on 11 x 16 x 1 inch foil lined pan. (Reynolds non-stick foil works the best)
3. Cook butter and sugar in saucepan for 3 minutes.
4. Pour butter and sugar mixture over the Saltines.
5. Baker at 350°F for 5 minutes or until crackers float.
6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over Saltines. You may want to put the sheet back in the oven to help melt the chocolate chips. Spread the melted chocolate carefully.
7. Top with chopped nuts.
8. Refrigerate. Once cooled, cut into bars.Saxon at MCKC a couple of years ago wearing a quilt "sandwich board". He'd had a long day promoting the sale of quilt tickets. |
The puppy tile is just gorgeous and the black and tan bars sounds sooooo yummy!
