TEDDY (AZ) & GRACIE (NV) SWAT

Teddy
TEDDY - Teddy's dad had to go into assisted living and the family had no place for him, so asked rescue to help.  Teddy was 9 years old and weighed 130 lb., about 30 lbs. more than his frame should be carrying.

He and his owner used to go everywhere together, but for the last few years, there was more food going in than calories going out.

Teddy & Harv
Luckily for big Teddy, we had a wonderful family waiting for a senior Airedale who needed them. With regular walks and a good diet, Catherine and Harv have gotten Teddy down to his healthy weight of 98 lbs.

Here's a photo of Teddy now that he's a svelte 98 lbs.
A much slimmer version of Teddy
now that he's dropped 30 lbs.

Catherine and Harv thought Teddy was so great that they asked us to keep an eye out for a nice senior girl who would be a good companion for Teddy and for them. We were all thrilled when 9 year old Trudy came in to rescue and she is now part of the family!

Gracie

GRACIEGracie outlived her original adoptive parents and came back in to rescue at age 11.   Gracie was only 50 #, walked great on leash, loved to go to the dog park and was the perfect companion for a wonderful senior adopter who had previously adopted one of our senior Airedales. Gracie was able to live out her remaining years with this wonderful lady, in pure luxury!!  Gracie and Artemis had a wonderful life together for the next three years.
Gracie on the road

"I was so blessed to have her in my life. There will never be another Gracie." Artemis

  4. Catherine & Harv - thanks for what you do for seniors. It's one of the most important things we do in rescue - help seniors live out their years with love.
