Connie Versagi, Author
Wendy Carty, Illustrator

Max is an Airedale pup, who goes on a journey through rescue. He loses his first home, and learns how to triumph over an accident that leaves him with a disability. All of it leading to the very thing that makes him a special dog, with much to teach about friends, hope, and never giving up. A must read for those in rescue, any child faced with a disability, and anyone in foster care, waiting for their special home. Max is a real dog, and he has overcome all the obstacles. He will show you how to believe.

FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS
Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Inc.
Animal Rescue League of Iowa experiences it all - wonderful dogs whose owners can no longer care for them, litters of puppies, and adult dogs of all breeds and combinations, fostering special needs dogs, legislative successes, on-staff veterinary care, solving behavior problems, and on-site teaching and training. You'll read dozens of heartfelt rescue and adoption stores and learn the following: Selecting a puppy, communicating with and understanding your dog, a puppy's development, housetraining, adopting an older dog, what you need to know about children and dogs, prepping a dog before bringing it home, basic commands, caring for your dog. Also, solving behavior problems such as jumping, inappropriate chewing, counter-surfing, fear and much, much more! Includes the Solve-A Problem, Save-A Pet training DVD where you'll see how a trained dog, a puppy, and an older dog in training respond. If you've ever thought...my dog could never do that... you'll see how a few simple steps can make a big difference in your pet's manners.

NO. 1-3 TWO SUZARK (PARK PETERS) MUGS
Donated by Candy Kramlich

Two Dark Green Ceramic Mugs
Closeup of etching on mug
Closeup of etching on 2nd mug

One features two Airedales playing etched on one side; the other features two Airedales sparring.  Each holds approx. 10 oz. of liquid. Circa 1990's.  I don't think you can get these anymore so they'd make a nice addition to anyone's collection.  I had a tradition where I'd buy one of Park Peters' mugs each year that I attended the Specialty.
